Michael Eisenson
Prior to co-founding Charlesbank in 1998, Mr. Eisenson was the president of Harvard Private Capital Group, the firm's predecessor. He began his tenure at Harvard Management Company in 1986 as managing director. Before joining Harvard Management, Mr. Eisenson was with The Boston Consulting Group, a corporate-strategy consulting firm. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Williams College, with a BA in economics, and holds JD and MBA degrees from Yale University. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Berklee College of Music Board of Trustees. He is also a founding member of Horizons for Homeless Children.
Matthew Mayers
Prior to co-founding StoneCastle Partners, Mr. Mayers was a Director in the New Products Group within the Fixed Income Division at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and was the head of repackaging focusing on developing, marketing, and executing repackaged securities transactions, including credit derivative transactions. Mr. Mayers was part of the team that executed the first pooled trust preferred securities transaction in early 2000. Prior to joining Citigroup in 1997, Mr. Mayers spent five years as an associate in the Structured Finance department at the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Mr. Mayers has a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and a B.A. degree from Amherst College.
George Shilowitz
Prior to joining StoneCastle Partners, Mr. Shilowitz was the President of Shinsei Capital (USA) Limited. Mr. Shilowitz joined Shinsei Bank in 2000 to assist a U.S.-led private equity group’s reorganization of the bank and oversaw various businesses including Merchant Banking, ABS/CMBS trading, and Asset-Backed Principal Finance. Prior to joining Shinsei, Mr. Shilowitz was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers in the Principal Transactions Group, focusing on proprietary investments in distressed financial institutions and debt portfolio acquisitions. Mr. Shilowitz was a member of Salomon Brothers’ asset finance group and held various positions in mortgage arbitrage and financial engineering at the First Boston Corporation. Mr. Shilowitz holds a B.S. in economics from Cornell University.
Joshua Siegel
Prior to co-founding StoneCastle Partners, Mr. Siegel was a Vice President in the Global Portfolio Solutions Group within the Fixed Income Division at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. Mr. Siegel was primarily responsible for new product development, including pooled trust preferred securities transactions. Mr. Siegel, while with Citigroup, led a group of professionals whose research in the late 1990s helped establish the basis and the standard for pooled trust preferred securities transactions with both investors and rating agencies. Mr. Siegel is the author of “Historical Default Rates of FDIC-Insured Commercial Banks, 1934–2001”, “Regional Bank Diversification” and “Analysis of Idealized Cumulative Default Rates Beyond 10 Years”. Mr. Siegel has a B.S. in Management and Accounting from Tulane University.
Brandon White
Brandon joined Harvard Private Capital Group, the predecessor to Charlesbank, in 1997. He previously worked at McKinsey & Company, focusing on corporate strategy in the telecommunications and oil and gas industries. He was appointed a managing director of Charlesbank in 2006. Brandon holds a BA in economics from Brigham Young University.
